I sent crypto on the wrong network

Crypto sent on the wrong network is often still yours, but what you can do depends on where it went. Look up the transfer first, then follow the case that matches.

Each network is separate. USDT on Ethereum and USDT on BNB Chain are different tokens, and a transfer on one network never arrives on another. EVM networks such as Ethereum, BNB Chain and Arbitrum use the same kind of address, and your FxWallet wallet has the same address on all of them, so a transfer on the wrong EVM network still goes through.

Find where it went​

Copy the transfer's transaction hash (TXID): in FxWallet, open the transfer in the coin's history; on an exchange, find it in your withdrawal history. Look the hash up in a block explorer to see the network the transfer used and the address it went to.

It went to your own address on another EVM network​

The crypto is in your wallet, on the network it was sent on. Look for it on that network in FxWallet, and if the token doesn't show, add it: see Add tokens and networks. You don't need to export or import a private key.

It went to an exchange​

Only the exchange controls its deposit addresses. Contact the exchange's support with the transaction hash (TXID), the network you used and the amount, and ask whether it can credit the deposit. Some exchanges can, sometimes for a fee.

It involved a non-EVM network​

Networks such as Bitcoin, TRON and Solana don't share addresses with EVM networks or with each other. Crypto sent across them usually can't reach its recipient and may be lost for good. If the recipient is an exchange, ask its support anyway.

Anyone who offers to get your crypto back if you share your mnemonic phrase or private key is a scammer, even if they say they're from FxWallet support. Never share either one.

  • When you withdraw from an exchange, choose the network that matches the coin in FxWallet: for example BEP20 (BSC) to receive USDT on BNB Chain. See Deposit crypto.
