Wallets and accounts FAQ
A wallet can hold several accounts, each with its own addresses, and all of a wallet's accounts come from the same mnemonic phrase. You manage both in Me → Wallet Management.
How do I delete a wallet?
FxWallet doesn't check that you've backed up a wallet before you delete it. A wallet deleted without its mnemonic phrase or private key is lost for good, with everything in it. In Wallet Management, a wallet you haven't backed up is marked Not Backed Up.
Go to Me → Wallet Management, select the wallet, tap Delete, and confirm it's you. The wallet leaves only this phone: its assets stay on the blockchain, and you can import it again from its backup. Deleting your last wallet resets FxWallet: see Reset the wallet.
How do I delete an account?
Select the wallet in Wallet Management, tap the account, then tap Delete Account. Its assets stay on the blockchain, and the wallet's mnemonic phrase can bring it back: see below.
Can I get a deleted account back?
Yes, with the wallet's mnemonic phrase. Add Account always adds the account after the highest one in the wallet:
- If you deleted the last account, Add Account brings it back, with the same addresses.
- If you deleted one before it, import the mnemonic phrase again as a new wallet, then add accounts until you reach it. Accounts come back in the same order, with the same addresses.
Why can't I add an account?
A wallet imported with a private key, or a watch wallet, has one account, so Add Account does nothing for it. For a wallet created or imported with a mnemonic phrase, FxWallet first asks you to back up the phrase: back it up, then add the account.
If FxWallet says The previous account is still being added. Please try again later., wait and try again. If adding an account was interrupted, open the account and tap Resume Account Setup.
Why doesn't my new account have some networks?
Some networks are only in a wallet's first account: Toncoin, Aptos, Asset Hub Polkadot, Siacoin, ScPrime and Bitcoin BLAKE2b (XBT). Use the first account for them.
Are accounts in one wallet kept apart?
No. Every account in a wallet comes from the same mnemonic phrase, so anyone who has the phrase controls all of them. To keep crypto apart, create a separate wallet with its own phrase.
