Reset the wallet

Resetting FxWallet erases every wallet from this phone. Your assets stay on the blockchain, but you can reach them again only by importing each wallet with its mnemonic phrase or private key. FxWallet can't recover a forgotten passcode, mnemonic phrase or private key, so resetting and importing your wallets again is also the only way back in if you forget your passcode.

Before you reset, make sure you have a backup of every wallet in FxWallet:

• Wallets created or imported with a mnemonic phrase: the mnemonic phrase. These wallets use different private keys for different networks, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana, so one private key can't restore the whole wallet. See Mnemonic phrase vs private key.
• Wallets imported with a private key: that private key.

If you reset without these backups, you lose those wallets and everything in them for good.

Reset the wallet

1. Go to Me → Security and tap Reset wallet at the bottom of the page.
2. The Risk Warning page lists your wallets and marks the ones you haven't backed up. Back those up first: see Back up your mnemonic phrase.
3. Tap Reset wallet, type RESET, and tap Confirm.

FxWallet then opens on its welcome screen. Import each wallet with its mnemonic phrase, or with its private key if you imported it that way. See Recover your wallet on a new or lost phone.

Hardware and cold wallets keep their keys on their own device, so connect them again after the reset, and never type their recovery phrase into FxWallet. See Create or import a wallet.

Turn on biometrics

Go to Me → Security and turn on Biometrics to unlock FxWallet and confirm transactions with Face ID or your fingerprint instead of your passcode.
