Connect a Keystone hardware wallet

FxWallet connects to a Keystone by scanning QR codes, with no cable or Bluetooth. Your keys stay on the Keystone: FxWallet shows your balances and prepares transactions, and the Keystone signs them.

Never type your Keystone's recovery phrase into FxWallet or any other app. It belongs only on the Keystone and in your offline backup.

Connect your Keystone​

You need an internet connection on your phone.

  1. In FxWallet, tap the wallet name at the top of the Wallet tab, tap +, then tap Cold / Hardware Wallet.
  2. Tap Keystone.
  3. On your Keystone:
    1. Unlock it.
    2. Tap the menu (⋯) and select Connect Software Wallet.
    3. Choose a wallet for a supported network to show its QR code. The Connect Hardware Wallet screen in FxWallet lists the supported networks.
  4. In FxWallet, tap Scan to Connect and scan the QR code on the Keystone.
  5. Under Add Accounts, select the accounts you want to add, then tap Confirm.

The Keystone appears as a wallet marked Hardware. Its EVM account appears on all EVM networks. FxWallet only adds the networks and accounts you export from the Keystone. To add more, export them from the Keystone, then go to Me → Wallet Management, select the wallet, tap Add Account and scan again.

Send with your Keystone​

  1. Start the transaction in FxWallet as usual, for example tap Send and enter the details.
  2. FxWallet shows Offline Signature with a QR code. Scan it with your Keystone, check the details on the Keystone's screen, and approve.
  3. In FxWallet, tap I have signed with my wallet and scan the signed QR code on the Keystone.
  4. Confirm to broadcast the transaction.

Requests from DApps and WalletConnect are signed the same way. To see past signing requests, tap More → Signing History on the Wallet tab.

With a Keystone, you can't pay gas with a Gas Card. The Staking tab on Earn isn't shown for hardware wallets, but you can stake SOL from its page: tap SOL on the Wallet tab, tap Stake, and sign with the Keystone. Staking on Cosmos networks isn't available with a hardware wallet.

If connecting fails​

  • Wallet Mismatch: the QR code comes from a different Keystone or wallet. Show the QR code of the right wallet and scan again.
  • No supported networks matched: the QR code has no network that FxWallet supports. Choose another network on the Keystone.
