# Why can't I swap this token?

> FxWallet stops or questions some swaps to protect you: scam tokens, a very high token tax or price impact, or a simulation that predicts a loss.

Before a swap on an EVM network, FxWallet checks the tokens, the price and what the swap would do on the blockchain. When a check finds a serious risk, it stops the swap or asks you to confirm. Find what you see below.

## The Swap button names a risk

FxWallet won't let you buy a token that its security data flags as a scam. The button shows the risk instead of **Swap**, such as **Honeypot**, **Self-Destruct Function** or **Fake Token**, and can't be tapped. Don't buy the token anywhere else either: tokens like these usually can't be sold. See [Tokens you can't sell](https://docs.fxwallet.com/security-and-scams/fake-tokens-and-offline-trading-scams#tokens-you-cant-sell).

FxWallet also won't swap a token whose tax would take most of what you swap. The button then shows the token's tax.

## The Swap button stays grey

- **The price impact is too high.** The amount is too large for the token's liquidity, and FxWallet shows the estimated loss above the button. Swap less, or split it into several swaps. See [Price impact](https://docs.fxwallet.com/swap/swap-tokens#price-impact).
- ****No Liquidity**.** No route can swap this pair right now. Try again later, try another amount, or swap through a common token such as USDT or ETH.

## FxWallet asks you to confirm

When the risk is serious but not certain, FxWallet shows an alert with the estimated loss: for example **High-Risk Token Alert** when you sell a token flagged as a scam, or **Unknown Trade Value Alert** when it can't value one of the tokens.

> **Warning**
>
> Confirm only if you're sure of both tokens and the amount: the loss shown can be real. To go ahead, tick **I understand the risks and want to proceed**, then tap **Confirm Swap**.

A confirmation covers one quote. If the quote changes, FxWallet asks again. If FxWallet couldn't finish its checks, it offers **Retry** and **Continue Anyway**: tap **Retry** first.

## The confirmation screen stops the swap

Before you confirm a larger swap, FxWallet simulates it to see what you'd really receive:

- **Simulation predicts failure. Execution blocked**, or **Execution blocked to prevent severe loss**: you can't confirm this route. Go back and pick another route, swap less, or try again later.
- **Significantly worse than quoted price**: you'd receive much less than quoted. To swap anyway, use **Slide to Confirm Swap**.
- **Simulation unavailable**: FxWallet couldn't check the swap. The quote is marked **Unverified Quote**, and the button says **Proceed to Swap**.

These checks cover swaps on one network. Bridges, and swaps between networks, don't get them.
