# Why didn't my price alert go off?

> Check the Price Alerts list first. An alert goes off only once, needs notifications on, and can miss a price that touches your target only briefly.

Start with the list: tap the bell at the top of the **Market** tab to open **Price Alerts**. An alert under **Triggered** has gone off, and one under **Active** is still waiting for its price. An alert goes off only once: to be told again, create a new one.

## It went off, but you weren't notified

- In FxWallet, go to **Me** → **System Notification** and check that **Price Alerts** under **Market** is on.
- In your phone's settings, allow notifications from FxWallet, and check that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't hiding them. On Android, battery saving can also delay or block notifications.
- When you created the alert, FxWallet may have said **Price alert created. Push is unavailable; check status in the Price Alerts list when triggered.** That means your phone couldn't receive its notification. Fix your notification settings, and check the list in the meantime.

Notifications you missed are also in **Me** → the bell at the top → **Notifications**, under **Price Alerts**.

## It went off right after you set it

An alert goes off at the first check where the price has reached your target: at or above it for **Above**, at or below it for **Below**. **Above** is selected by default, so an alert set to **Above** with a target below the current price goes off at once, and not when the price later falls to your target. Create a new alert, and compare your target with the current price shown above the price field.

## The price touched your target only briefly

FxWallet checks prices at intervals, not continuously, so a price that crosses your target and comes straight back may not set off the alert. The price it checks is Market's, which combines prices from many exchanges, so a spike on one exchange may never reach your target in Market. See [Why is a price different from other sites?](https://docs.fxwallet.com/market/faq#why-is-a-price-different-from-other-sites)

## Your app currency isn't US dollars

Enter your target in the same currency as the current price shown above the price field. FxWallet saves the target in US dollars, so when exchange rates move, the alert goes off at a slightly different price in your currency. The notification shows both prices in US dollars.

## The alert isn't in the list

- **It wasn't created.** If price alert notifications were off when you tapped **Create Alert**, FxWallet asked you to turn them on. Unless you tapped **Enable and create**, it created no alert.
- **You're using another wallet.** Each wallet has its own alerts. Switch to the wallet that set the alert.
- **You reinstalled FxWallet, restored your wallet or moved to a new phone.** Alerts aren't part of your wallet's backup, so they're gone. Set them again.
